Are you the only Specialist?
I am an Advanced-Certified Grief Recovery® Specialist, certified by the Grief Recovery Institute®. While I am the sole Specialist within Cloudbreak Wellness, there are many, many Specialists around the world. You can find me and other Specialists in the directory at The Grief Recovery Institute® by using your favorite search engine.

Is this therapy?
The programs offered at Cloudbreak Wellness DO NOT constitute therapy and are not meant to be a substitute for therapy. However, those who complete the program find it to be incredibly therapeutic.

Does insurance cover these programs?
Because these programs are classified as educational programs and are not under a licensing / regulatory body, insurance does NOT currently cover the programs offered by Cloudbreak Wellness.

When and where do you do programs?
The programs offered at Cloudbreak Wellness are offered Monday through Friday by appointment only. If you are doing an individual program the scheduling is quite flexible. Within the group program context the programs are fixed. The programs are offered online via Zoom, and require privacy and uninterrupted focus.

Where are the programs offered?
While we are physically located in Michigan, in the Eastern Time Zone, the primary location of the programs offered by Cloudbreak Wellness is WHERE YOU ARE. The programs are offered by Zoom, so they can be done anywhere you can access Zoom. As long as you can find an available appointment slot, you can do the program online, even if you are in a different country or time zone. Please contact us directly for information on in-person offerings.

Are the programs expensive?
Some may find our programs cheap, reasonable or expensive. Your perspective is determined by your personal factors. The program's value, however, is measured by how hugely successful and life-changing its impact is: for your near future, your distant future, and for its beneficial ripple effect on others through you. Its very personal action path can be difficult, however, and it is important to be treated as the valuable tool it is so that our participants are less likely to quit when it gets tough. Please be encouraged, no matter where you are financially right now: there ARE some flexible payment options which may be reached via a FREE 15-minute phone consultation. Let's connect.

Are these programs faith-based?
The programs offered by Cloudbreak Wellness are NOT faith-based programs; therefore, whether you live by faith or not, these programs can be of benefit to you.

Do you have programs for kids?
Our program Helping Children With Loss is a program geared towards the ADULTS who care for children. Whether your role in their life is that of parent, grandparent, teacher, pastor, coach etc., this program will enable you to support them, whether they have experienced their grief yet or not.

What if I'm suicidal?
Many of us have experienced having suicidal thoughts. We believe that when that happens, you don't REALLY want to die; you just don't want to feel like "this" anymore. We encourage you to reach out for help immediately; then when the thoughts of suicide are gone, come back and let's work together. The programs will require the concentration not usually present within the context of suicidal thoughts. Stay alive. Better is ahead.

Can I break the program up and complete it over time?
Due to the nature of these programs, momentum is critical. Therefore, it is necessary to begin the program when you can reasonably expect to dedicate one session a week for about 8 consecutive weeks.

How is my privacy protected in the programs?
Before your program begins, you are required to sign a consent form that includes an agreement to confidentiality, with legal consequence with breach. The only exception to that is if your Specialist, as a Mandated Reporter, must share with law enforcement if you are believed to present a risk to yourself or others. Aside from such exceptions, your Specialist is also legally bound to confidentiality.

What if I'm not a griever? Are there any programs for me?
We believe that grief is the normal, natural reaction to loss or change of any kind, with any degree of (unpleasant) emotional impact. That being said, grief is not limited to death or divorce, but to more than 40 other types of loss and change that one may experience in life. It may be something "huge" or something "small". But it all adds up in the load we carry around each day, preventing us from moving forward in life the way we want. Therefore, both of the Grief Recovery Method® Programs are appropriate for you.
